Introduction
The fourth CR4D Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) meeting which will be convened on the 15-16 November in Nairobi, Kenya.
As a CR4D governance entity, the SAC has responsibility to provide guidance for the CR4D research priorities, and scientific assessment of the CR4D climate related research activities as established, supported, and implemented by the CR4D initiative.
The upcoming SAC meeting comes at an opportune time as the launch of the first CR4D research grants through the African Academy of Sciences (AAS), under the auspices of the WISER programme, is imminent. This agenda item will encompass the grant management frame work and thematic areas to be covered by the research grants. The SAC will also deliberate on the final CR4D strategy document developed last year and which has been reviewed by different CR4D governing bodies.
Other items in the SAC’s programme will include the CR4D progress report and the initiatives implementation plan for the year 2019.
